Our tips for successful exam revision
Who hasn't dreamed of finding that ONE THING, the thing that will help you remember everything you've learned without trying? Unfortunately, there's no secret miracle. But Nemea is here with a few tips that might come in handy!
How to succeed at your exams?
An intense and stressful time in your life, the end of year exams are nobody's favourite. Our first tip is to start your revision well before the exam date, but if you're reading this article, you probably aren't much of a planner. Panicking as you see the exam date getting scarily close? For effective revision you need the right conditions, and that includes the right place. Important tips: turn of your phone, so you won't be tempted to check it (we assure you it can be done! Eat well, and get enough sleep.
Planning your revision: it's an art!
To start, the keyword is ORGANISATION Even if it seems boring don't underestimate the power of revision planning, it will save you time in the long run. If you're not a fan of planning, simply make a list and jot down everything you need to revise, so you can see it more clearly before you start. You don't want to be stuck wondering what you need.
Once you've nailed the organisation part it's time to get serious:
- Make some revision sheets (if you haven't already, they're much easier to digest than the pages from your class notebook)
- Revise for a maximum of 3 hours per subject at a time (there's nothing worse than spending a whole day on the same subject, and it will be much less effective anyhow.)
- Take regular breaks or power naps so your brain doesn't feel like it's exploding (Don't use it as an excuse to stare at the walls all day long)
Wishing you the best of luck. Follow these tips and you'll nail it!
