Check everything in detail before renting your flat
You've just spotted an ad for the flat of your dreams! This flat is apparently in great condition and has everything you need. To work out if it's really a good deal, go through the flat with a fine-tooth comb. When you go to the viewing, there are important details to consider. Make sure you:
- Check how much light the flat gets
- Listen carefully to see how good the sound insulation is
- Run your hand over the edges of the windows to check for draughts
- Turn on the electrics to make sure everything is working (if the flat is furnished)
- Turn on the taps to check the water pressure and the condition of the pipes
- Look at windows, walls and even mirrors to gauge the humidity level
